• Experienced Coffee Barista who has worked recently as a Barista

• Completed a barista course

• The position would suit uni student or those wanting to work a variety of hours per week. 

• Must be able to adjust the grind and be able to handle high volume without dropping in quality.

• Being able to use the headset ordering system is an advantage. 

• Must be available to work most Saturdays, Sundays, and be flexible on weekdays. 

• Able to start work at 5.15 am 

• We take pride in welcoming regular customers by having their drinks ready and waiting for them when they get to the counter or drive-thru window. 

• Local or own transport is a must. 

• Conditions and other duties will be discussed at the interview. 

• Juniors are welcome.

About Us:

We are a bustling café and drive-thru located in Capalaba, dedicated to maintaining high service standards. Our operation runs 7 days a week, with no evening shifts or split shifts, allowing our team members to typically finish their day by 2:00 PM. We are passionate about good food and a positive team environment, and we're looking for someone who shares our commitment.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. Initially, this will be a casual position due to the current climate, but with the strong possibility of transitioning to full-time or part-time employment for the right candidate. You will play a crucial role in producing high-quality meals from our diverse breakfast, lunch, and catering menus, which also feature exciting rotating specials.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining seamless operations across the preparation, cooking, and delivery of our daily café, drive-thru, and catering menus.

Implementing effective stock rotation and ensuring strict adherence to food safety protocols.

Maintaining effective and profitable stock control on a daily basis.

Upholding impeccable cleanliness standards within the kitchen environment.

Ensuring full compliance with all relevant food safety, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.

About You:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual who can consistently produce a high standard of product. You should possess a calm and collected approach, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure in our fast-paced and demanding environment. As a vital part of our team, you must be able to work well and communicate effectively with all front-of-house and back-of-house staff. While you should be capable of working independently, efficiency within a team setting is also essential.

Essential Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

A minimum of 2 years of recent, demonstrable experience in a similar fast-paced culinary role.

Proven ability to work under pressure in a demanding, high-volume environment.

Possession of an 'I'm Alert in Food Safety' certificate (Redland City Council).

A true "early bird" with the flexibility to adapt to varying shift hours.

Demonstrate an exceptional work ethic and a proactive attitude.

Availability to work weekends is mandatory.

Must reside locally in the Capalaba area.

Availability for 5:45 AM starts.

Ability to commence work immediately.

No existing commitments that could potentially impact your availability to work.

Hold permanent residency or be an Australian Citizen.

Highly Desirable (but not essential):

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

Remuneration and Opportunity:

The minimum wage will be paid according to the Fast Food Award. However, for the right candidate who demonstrates exceptional skills and commitment, we are prepared to offer above-award wages after a successful probation period. We are actively seeking someone who desires to join our team on a long-term basis, contributing to our continued success and growth.
